If you're a marine lover, my first suggestion to you would be Catalina Island. Catalina Island is one of the world's most beautifully preserved islands. Many species on the island were endangered. However, with the help of the CIMI institute (Catalina Island Marine Institute), many species were able to survive to this time.

I gotta admit, the adventure on Catalina Island has been one of my most memorable memories in my lifetime. On the island, you would have the opportunity to learn the basic survival skills like camping. Since there is limited water, they highly encourage you to only shower for 2 minutes (or not even shower), save as much food, not litter, etc. Okay, at first, it sounds a little downgraded with all the items you are limited on. However, let me tell you, you would absolutely not regret going to Catalina for the experience. You only live once. This trip would put you in awe when you look at the sceneries yourself.

First thing to do when you get on the island. Snorkel. When I went snorkeling with my crew, the marine species you would find are very exotic. Something to look out for when snorkeling is octopus, lobsters, and really cute classes of fish swimming together. They often hangout around the sea anemones in the ocean. Honestly, the best part about Catalina Island was the night snorkeling. Specifically, the planktons you would see during the night snorkel. In the dark, when you move your dippers in the ocean, the planktons would start to glow in the ocean. It looks almost like another magical realm!

A couple more things you can do on the Catalina Island are kayaking, boogie boarding, scuba diving, labs, hiking, tanning (lol not to much though), watching sunrises & sunsets, and also become one with the ocean.
The cabins that are provided on the Catalina Island are pretty descent. The one that I stayed in for the 3 day trip was right on the beach. What was nice about it was the sound of the ocean tides you could hear when you sleep and wakeup. You would be able to wakeup to the crispy scent of ocean and the calm tides washing onto shore.
Catalina Island is breath taking. If this didn't convince you to want to go to Catalina, take a look at some of my pictures below and enjoy the power of nature!~

Catalina Island is definitely something you should add onto your bucket list if you're a travel lover. Below, I have attached a short video on what I did when I was on Catalina Island if you're curious!
